Bridging the “skills gap”& securing employment for People with disabilities in Gauteng (Pretoria) and the Western Cape (Durbanville)
It is absolutely essential to be computer literate and people with disabilities have been denied opportunities in computer literacy.
The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) runs 2 Computer Training Centres that provide free computer training for People with disabilities in the form of an entry level 1 week course and a more advanced 2 week Microsoft accredited course.
Course content includes orientation on the hardware and basic Microsoft product knowledge. The QASA Digital Village Computer Training project also sensitises the candidates to be able to survive a job interview and this is done in the form of simulation.
A CV is an extremely valuable tool and each candidate has the opportunity of completing their own CV which is then pooled into a database and distributed to potential employers for opportunities.
